Hybrid Water Heaters
The heat pump extracts heat from the surrounding air using a fan and transfers it to the water in the tank. It operates similarly to a refrigerator but in reverse, using refrigerant and a compressor to move heat. In addition to the heat pump, hybrid water heaters also have traditional electric heating elements. These elements can be used to provide additional heating when demand is high or when the ambient air temperature is too low for the heat pump to operate efficiently.
The water heater is equipped with a thermostat and advanced controls that allow you to set the desired water temperature and select different operating modes (e.g., heat pump only, hybrid, electric only). Like traditional water heaters, hybrid models have an insulated storage tank that holds a certain amount of hot water ready for use. The tank helps maintain water temperature and reduces energy loss.
When you turn on a hot water tap in your home, hot water is drawn from the top of the tank, and cold water is introduced at the bottom, ensuring a continuous supply of hot water.
